The first thing I said was, my son is psycho I need your best person here. My son HATES haircuts. Why I dont know but he moves, he cries, he acts like hes dying. It took 2 people to give him a haircut! But they were so prepared and nice about the whole thing it made me and my husband fell so much better. They apologized up and down for not doing the best job, but are you kidding? I would expect even the best kids hairdresser in the world to do a perfect job! They managed to cut it and have it look decent. Im perfectly OK with it. Thank you all for being so patient and kind with our monster!

I took my 11 year old to get a trim. She had a very specific style and we just needed maintenance. We ALWAYS ask for a stylist that is good with short, feminine haircuts. But my poor kiddos hair is ruined. She has invested 3 years into this haircut and now it is ruined.The resulting cut is ok, but its not what we asked for. I brought it up to the stylist and she argued with me about the type of cut. I remained calm, I explained that I really needed her to hear that we were unhappy, and then I paid and still left her a tip because I am not going to punish someone financially.There really is no recourse for the situation. The front desk offered me a free haircut in the future, but honestly I dont need a free haircut, I needed the stylist to apologize to my child. A little bit of humility goes a long way.Overall, this place does not retain a consistent team of people. You cant really ask for the same stylist every time. I dont think we will go back. Its a poorly managed company. You cant blame the stylists for that.

I took my 7yo daughter last week for a trim and layers and I hadn’t notice until today how bad her haircut is. The layers are very uneven and straight cut. I will post pictures. My daughter likes going there cause of the chairs but it is not worth it

Ive been going here since my son was 1 years old he is now 6 they have outstanding customer service friendly fast and they can also give you advice on what hair products to use or what styles would best suit your childs needs. They have a neat setup and the lobby is never boring for your kiddo & they dont book too far out. 👌👌

It’s the little things. Over the years, I have encountered very positive people that made our experience great, but also rudeness, lost appointments, and lack of attempted engagement with my kids. My son struggles with haircuts, and more times than not, the staff makes no effort to make him feel comfortable. Some associates are better, and we have definitely had good experiences, but now that more options are emerging for kids haircuts, I will likely be checking them out. When I first came back after the covid closure, they lost our appointment and then falsely accused me of not paying for a haircut over a year before when I was trying to check in. Anyone who knows me knows that I would never do this, plus how would I have even left if I hadn’t paid?? Also, calling to check in for, reschedule, and make appointment has been a nightmare for me. They often don’t even answer their phone. Recently, I needed to call and cancel an appointment that I had made online. After the fifth or sixth try, I just gave up notifying them that I wouldn’t be able to make the appointment. I wish the best, and am grateful for the good experiences we did have.

I’ve been taking my daughter here for years. They are so great with her. She has sensory issues which makes hair brushing difficult. The stylists are super understanding and patient with her.We have even had her birthday party here. The girls had such a great time getting pampered.

This place was so cool. Ashley did my daughter’s hair and she was amazing, very patient, clean, and friendly. We will definitely be returning also I would recommend this place to others if you are looking for somewhere to take your child to get a haircut.

I just got both my daughters haircut here for the first time and we all three just absolutely loved it here. They did amazing on there hair and amazing workers who actually care about the customers and prices were really good to I was surprised how cheap they were. Very covid safe to. I highly recommend them I love what packages they offer to. I know Im having my daughter birthday party there next month for a little spa day for her and her friends:)

We just moved to this area and the salon I used to go to is a bit far from where we are now, My son is extremely sensitive to haircuts and can be a bit anxious when he hears clippers. I scheduled an online appointment which was super easy! I arrived about 5 minutes early called and was let in pretty much right away, Ashley was AMAZING, my son was bit grumpy from his nap but she handled it so well! When he was having a hard time she reassured him and made sure he felt comfortable, she also made sure I was involved and asked me for input on his haircut to make sure it was what I wanted. I also saw that the staff was keeping COVID safe practices and disinfecting the areas after use, very friendly atmosphere, will definitely be back again.

Called to inquire about a birthday party and spoke to someone who gave me some details and said a receptionist would call back to schedule. Waited 3 days and did not get a return call. When I finally called back they said they are not scheduling parties. Did not even have the professionalism to call to let me know.

Took my 2 year old son here to get a haircut he has had given us trouble getting his haircut in the past but the Ashley was very understanding and patience with my son and made the whole experience alot better for him and talked to him and tried to make it not so scary for him will not be taking him anywhere else would recommend for anyone with kids they are awesome

I went just yesterday. I had two appointments. One for my son for a haircut, and another for my daughter. She was so excited to get her ears pierced. When we were finally let in, the lady was rude to my son and kept telling him to pick a spot. He was new there and is 4 years old. I finally asked her to just tell him where to sit and he would follow. When I was asked what we wanted done, I told the lady I wanted a Mohawk, she kept badgering me asking what I wanted I told her just cut the sides as short as you can with also keeping the length on the top because I wanted to let it grow. She and another lady started buying me saying they didn’t know what I meant when I asked them to fade his sides out (give him a little fade) she responded as if she wanted me to tell her how to do her job. I finally got tired of arguing with these two unprofessional ladies and we left. They ruined my kids experience they wanted their hair and ears done so bad. This was my first time and they were so rude to us. The other lady wasn’t even helping with my kids and was commenting and making “ooooh” noises when I was talking to the other lady. I later called for an owners or corporates number and the manager was the one treating me awful and she said I wasn’t going to “talk to her like that” and she hung up on me. She was the one who was rude from the very start. Parents Beware!!!

They were so professional and so gentle with my son and his first hair cut. They did an outstanding job.

My 2 year old was so excited to get his haircut today. We followed procedure and called from our car to check in. The lady took our number down incorrectly. When we didnt get a call back after 15 min, I just figured they were running behind. I tried to call to see what was going on and no answer so I waited 5 more minutes and called again. This time they answered and said they had called me twice and I didnt answer so they cancelled the appt but they would check to see if they could fit me in. By this time, my 2 year old had been waiting in the car patiently for half an hour. They ended up calling back about 5 min later to tell us they had no availability and I would have to reschedule despite their error. The thing is, I know the store had my number from the original booking because I got 2 courtesy reminder texts about the upcoming appointment. They easily could have verified the number after no answer, not to mention they knew we were sitting in the parking lot waiting because I had called to check in. My son was devastated and cried all the way home because he wanted a haircut. This is so frustrating because it isnt like an adult hair cut or dye, it doesnt take a huge amount of time to fit in a kids cut and they couldnt be bothered. They offered me $2 off if I rescheduled but at that point I had an upset 2 year old who had been sitting in a car waiting for a long time and I wasnt willing to risk that again.

Ive taken my kids to this place and recommended this place for years and Ive always had the best experiences.The girl at the front desk even remembered my momentous ( mix of sad/shock/happy) time when my son cut his longer hair off. It truly was a complete transformation and its special that she remembered it, with as many kids as she sees in between our visits. I do appreciate it and thank you! Amber, who had the pleasure of that time wasnt as much, but its not really their job to be, I guess. The turn over is pretty regular, but they hire some pretty talented and patient people.Unfortunately, todays experience was a horrible experience with the stylist Amber. We have had her before and I have watched her trim my sons hair and today it was just a trim on the sides and she showed me that maybe a quarter inch off the top, max. She left him 1 on top, while I was entertaining my toddler in the waiting area.This is the haircut pic I showed her that my son wanted to try( the guy model pic below). I asked if she could achieve this look and of course she said yes, ( the staff Ive had here are truly talented).The only real difference between this haircut and my sons was my sons sides needed to be shorter, before and after pictures below. You can judge by the pics below, my son has pretty long hair on top, but she seems to have completely disregarded what we agreed to. Instead she trimmed the top to 1 at most! She didnt peek around the wall and ask me if she could take a couple inches off his top ( I would have said absolutely not) and those decisions werent hers to make. I really hope it was just that one stylist. Ive never had a problem with any stylist there asking me before changing anything.

Took my 3 daughters there for their first haircut since COVID, the hairdresser was not very cheery and pushy towards all the girls. Trying to make them put their heads down, my 3 year old was scared and she told her “I’m not mean, only to my kids when they are bad, you know?” Really?? I just think maybe more professional, happier place for a kids place!

Fun environment for getting little ones comfortable with haircuts. Kids can sit in a vehicle of their choice. Kids can also watch a movie while getting a haircut.

We just got our daughters first haircut done here at Sheer Madness on Paseo! Malena did such a great job!! For our little girls 1st haircut, they took a before and after photo and put locks of her hair in little baggies to frame. They printed the photos on-site and had them ready to go in like 5 minutes. Such a good experience for our little girl. We will be returning for our future health trims.

I have came here a few times with my child but what I don’t like is they are always behind schedule on their appointment 😡 but some of them do cut kids hair good and are patient with the kids.

Best place ever!! This a true family friendly place, designed for kids, made to make them feel comfortable and take away any fear (they can sit in custom chairs like planes and trains while watching tv). The stylists are pros, calm and collected and very careful. They genuinely enjoy kids, not like other places where they gossip after clients leave, complaining about how much your kid cried. Ive taken my kids twice and was very satisfied. Appointments are best as they are very popular. I wont take my family anywhere else. Its worth every penny and then some.

Listen- if youre looking for a cute party at a not too expensive price, they are priced very fair. 6 girls for $150- you get nails painted, quick up do, glitter tattoos, make-up (lip gloss and eyeshadow), and tiaras completed by high school and college aged girls. Cute, but, (maybe Im being overly critical because I am a cosmetologist) the hair portion was very sloppily done. All of my girls hair had fallen out within an hour of leaving. I know doing that many mini up dos that quickly (hour and a half) is a difficult feat, and mind you I only had 4 girls, however, you have a list of hair dos to choose from- make sure youre awesome at the few options. The girls were so excited to have their hair done for it to completely fall out. They didnt even get to show their parents- so I went home and fixed, and redid everyones hair. I also asked that my daughter get a full mani instead of the polish and trim, and when I mentioned it she looked at me like I was crazy, and just went ahead and completed the polish and trim, despite being told that was indeed an option. The owner was very sweet, and hospitable, no complaints at all there, everyone was very nice. The price was fair, I cant complain too much, definitely feel there should be some QC with the hair portion- only piece of constructive feedback.

Staff was friendly but rushed the haircut. It was my sons first haircut and im very disappointed with it. So blotchy and uneven. The one part that looked good they ruined when I asked them to fix the back. They messed up the front and somewhat shaped up the back. Definitely was not worth the money and im pretty upset. We were promised extra time and attention for the first cut package and instead she just used the clippers with so type of technique or system. Now I have to fix it and its going to be way shorter than I wanted.

I have been taking my kiddo here for about a year. While at six years old he is getting a little bit big to sit in the little cars they have, he really enjoys sitting in them and watching a movie while he gets his haircut. And I will say, that even though I try to get him the same haircut every time, every person cuts it just a little bit different so it isn’t super consistent style wise. But they are usually very quick and very patient beauticians. They really do work hard to make sure it’s a fun experience for the kids, they even give them a little bracelet afterward and have a little candy when we are paying on the way out.

It took me about 2 months to get the guts to cut my 20 month old sons curly hair. I did alot of research and I found shear madness on Wyoming. I enjoyed the very kid friendly atmosphere and my son liked it so much he only cried when I removed him from the airplane chair 😅 Brittney was confident and very kind. I definitely recomend coming here for kids haircuts!The prices were fair for the service provided.Thank you for making our experience a great one. We will be back to see Brittney when needed!

I took my son in today and we both had our hair done. I had Jamie which was great but unfortunately he had Ashley and even with photos of the hair cut I wanted for him she cut off way too much. What didnt make sense is she blamed me for her mistake instead of taking responsibility. Instead of his stylish cut he has almost a buzz cut. She was unapologetic, no discount was offered and she was dismissive. She seemed more concerned with getting in her next customers. I wont be returning there at any point.

Went for my sons hair cutting appt without realizing that I was exposing my son to COVID word of mouth came about from 2 employees had tested positive for COVID and still working none of the other employees were tested very unethical as far as the place dirty I didn’t see stylist sanitize or wash there hands between each client receptionist was very rude . This place needs to be deep sanitize after each client because this could get kids very sick. Also didn’t see employees following any of the COVID guidelines as far practicing social distance the ones not busy we’re up front chatting

Erica did an amazing job giving our girl her first haircut. She was patient, polite, considerate, had great bedside manner with our daughter, and we were happy with the haircut our daughter received. My wife had read many good things about her in different mom groups and were happy she had the availability to do it.

Our first time here was awesome we will be coming back. Aurora took care of both my girls and my youngest is 22 months old. She is patient with kids. She did a French braid for my oldest and pig tails for my youngest. They have little car, plaines, and a train as seats!!! The best part is that they ask your child to pick what seat they want! You can also buy toys here at their mini shop.

Have been here a few times with my children have a 7yr old boy and an 3 yr old girl we live 2hrs away in Magdalena, NM... Have loved them every other time but this last time I was 5 min late being that I drove 100mi i thought my son would be okay even after calling in and notifying we would be a few minutes late. My son was devastated that they would not cut his 12in hair so he could donate it and the stylist was very rude to my family... Will be finding better mannered people to take care of my family! *Noted there was no one else in the store at the time*

Even though busy, they were very great and understanding for our daughters and our requests. Highly recommend for first timers and active kiddos. I called and was able to schedule an appointment same day. The stylist did an AMAZING job! My son loved his haircut and so did I. She made sure to chat with him and include me in decisions about his cut. All the staff was very friendly so I’m not sure why there are so many reviews saying the staff is cold. Everyone was smiling and interacting with the children and parents. Very pleasant experience! I was super happy to see that even after a good tip the hair cut was less then what Jungle Cuts quoted me. I will be back!

I took my 2 boys (8yr & 19 month old) to get haircuts. Im giving the shop 2 stars because of the cute novelty of it. It is very kid friendly. But if you are looking for a good haircut, this is not the place. They chopped my toddlers hair up, there where uneven cuts, I had to have her try and smooth it out. They missed a bunch of spots too. My 8 yr olds was okay. Again I had to have her clean it up in some areas and the girl ended up cutting herself! I definitely dont recommend this place and we will not be going back. Also, my toddler refused to sit in the cute little car and I ended up holding him on my lap anyways.

Sadie gives a fast and awesome mens cut and had a couple great jokes to boot! I would highly recommend taking your brats to her and watch her work her kid magic!

My two year old first hair cut and she is usually not very friendly with others but her hairstylist Bethany was so great and patient with her! She always gave some great tips for her curly hair to take home! Her hair came out amazing and perfect! I will definitely come back

Was a cute place to take kids for their first haircut. They had a cute setting with little transportation vehicles. Was not very happy with the pressure of timing and the stylist Amber. My daughter Bella for her first haircut wanted some fake color. Amber was only able to add tinsel’s in the back of her hair because Amber had made a hair braid prior to putting tinsel’s. Nevertheless, color on hair was the first thing we requested. Me and husband didn’t like Ambers service and we thought she was a bit rude too. We were confirmed with Malenas service with our little son. Daughter “ the girl that did my hair was not very nice. The one who cut my hair.”

New in town and saw this place on Facebook and thought it might be a fun place to treat my daughter and I for cuts. Got home, one side of my bangs are touching my eyebrow one is way above. Too short to fix now, and flying to visit my family in a week to celebrate our birthdays and Christmas. Had to take scissors to my kids bangs, chunks of long ones left over. The staff was friendly, but I wont be going back. The friendliness bought it up to a 2 star, but the cut, being the important part, I would have it rated a 1 star.

I have been taking my kids to Shear Madness for years and have never had any issues. They love the options of chairs (which has a variety for different ages and both girls and boys), the choices in TV options, and the staff has always been very friendly. They keep all my sons information on record so he can get the same cut he wants every time. I love the inexpensive options for braids, colors, etc. that make the haircut even more special for that day. We will continue to patronize this location as we always leave happy!

We have been coming here for years. We always make an appt with Amber, shes awesome with my boys. Im giving two stars because the last time we went, Amber wasnt available, but we needed a haircut for my 6 year old. It was butchered, this isnt the first time this has happened when Amber wasnt there. We asked for a 2 on the sides and a trim on top. She did the sides and started the top... But DID NOT fade it .. when I asked her to fade it she said well I didnt know you wanted that. Seriously?! She attempted to fade it but it was awful. My son came to the waiting area and his hair was butchered. I had to ask her to fix it... She seemed annoyed and rushed. It still looked awful. I had to go home and have my husband fix it instead.I think Amber is the only competent stylist. But I doubt we will ever be back. Management didnt care, and the customer service the last few times has been awful. Most of the staff just seems annoyed lately. Im paying 20+ dollars for a kids haircut to deal with unkind staff and leave with butchered hair anyway.

This place is so cute inside. Theres tons of toys for purchase all around you as soon as you walk in. Little cars and airplanes for the kids to sit in. Our hairstylist trimmed our 2 year old sons hair and did an amazing job and stayed so patient with him as he was screaming and crying the entire time. She gave him a sucker, a little stretchy bracelet, cleaned the hairs off him when she was all finished. Came out to $17 before the tip and I thought it was 100% worth it. Ill definitely be coming back.

We took our 11 month old son to Shear Madness recently to get his first haircut done. The experience was fantastic. The stylist was very patient with him, was great at keeping him distracted enough to cut his hair, and was very personable. Our son did not get fussy or angry the entire time due to the way she approached cutting his hair, and the end result of the appointment was excellent and we love his haircut. Great place to take small children.

I had my birthday girl who turned 3 excited for her diva day only to receive a call exactly 2 hours before her scheduled appointment that they were unable to keep her appointment. Apparently the online booking screwed the appointment slot and I was able to schedule it during a birthday party. My 3 year old was so upset because this was all we had been talking about for the past week. We were able to still have a diva day in the chair not in the back and still had to pay full price even though she didnt get to go to the back due to the birthday party. I was upset because had she had the full experience I think it wouldve made a huge difference for her.

Ive been coming here for years now and have been completely happy. My kids have their personal stylist and she is great. They are friendly and patient with kids and parents. And they keep the salon clean. Bring your kids they will enjoy getting a haircut here.

They used to be a good place and Im not sure what happened but I wont be taking my boys here any longer. 2 bad experiences is enough for me. After reading everyones complaints about this place, it looks like its gone downhill the last few months. I wish Amber would move places to somewhere where they are more competent and friendly at the front. She was the only reason why we went here. Now to find a new place.

All of the stylists are very nice, attentive and move with your child (versus trying to make them sit completed still). All of the toys, fun cars to sit in and TV channels offer a great amount of entertainment and distraction. Today, I cut my youngest sons hair for the time (Bethany-highly recommended), but have been a customer with my older son for a couple of years. We will continue to come here for the boys hair needs until they are too cool to sit on the cop car :)

They cater to kids style and stay at home mom and their coffee club mentality. Playroom atmosphere and decor. Good job on my 7 yo niece hair do, but definitely WAY over priced. Her 14yo brother thinks its the princess indoctrination center.

Im struggling a bit with how many stars to give them because the salon itself is a nice place, but our experience wasnt all that great. We went to get our 6 year old a haircut to, essentially, test out the place before taking our difficult, uncooperative toddler in for a first cut. Amber was the stylist and although she didnt do anything wrong per se, it was a disappointing experience. She spent barely any time with him (DEFINITELY less than 10 minutes) and did so in near complete silence. She was not very welcoming, friendly, or personable and was either having a not-so-great day or she doesnt particularly like working with kids. She didnt try to chit chat with him at all, or us, and took about a second to glance at our inspiration picture. His cut didnt turn out the way we wanted/asked or; the way it was in the picture she didnt look at. She asked what we were doing to his hair, she asked what movie he wanted to watch and what car he wanted to sit in, and asked if he wanted gel in his hair and that was literally it. It was just mechanical and impersonal. If there were other similar places like this around town, our experience would keep me from returning to Shear Madness. It wasnt fun for our child, it wasnt special, it wasnt worth our time or money.

If I could give zero stars I would. In the two years we have gone to this place, only twice have my boys gotten good haircuts. Unfortunately, those two hairstylists left. Usually the cuts end up being tolerable to total butcher job. This last visit was the last straw for us. Both of the boys hair look awful, with their bangs looking like she stuck a bowl on their head and cut around it. We will not be coming back. I wish they would hire more competent hairstylists.

So I will say I was pleased with how my daughters front braid came out, although my sons braids came out within just one day- not even making to his Birthday party with his hair fully done. This was his first time but maybe taking a little more time would’ve got the job done right. Instead of rushing. Fussy or not. They did seem to have patience but Quality work is preferred.

Wish they took card not just cash but overall it was great. They were nice, they braided my twin daughters hair for free, we got to choose the seat they could sit on, and they had a TV going so the kids could be a little distracted and not worry about what was being done with their hair. Some kids can be frightened. We will definitely be going back. I hope they stay in business for a long time. In a quiet part of town and not very many people there at the time.

Best place to take children for haircuts. Very satisfied with hairstylist Amber. She was quick, patient and did a fabulous job on my grandsons hair. Not easy cutting a 1 and a half year olds hair, but she was great!!!!

Very nice people, patient with kids and has a great atmosphere for them. Kinda far from where we live but I feel its worth it since my daughter lets them work on her hair.

Overpriced, would rather take my son to a barber shop. Good for kids who aren’t comfortable with getting cuts or good for their first cut. My son falls asleep in the chair. Shear Madness was more of a toy store to him rather than a barber shop.

I took my son to Shear Madness today because I was having trouble getting his hair cut at other salons. I was hoping Shear Madness would entertain him enough to sit still. I was greeted by the friendly staff right away and we didnt have to wait very long before going back. The stylist was so great with him and was able to keep his attention long enough to give him a wonderful haircut. I would recommend this place to all my friends.

This place is awesome. The staff really were very kind and gentle with my 1 and a half year old. He was scared and they took the time to try to calm him. The haircut turned out really great despite my son not sitting still! Very cute place with lots to keep the kids busy. Thanks for everything!

My 3yo and her friend (also 3yo) has their first haircut today. I would like to start off by saying...our hairdresser (Karla) was fantastic! Karla was engaged with our child and is the entire time and gave our daughter the treatment we expected!! So why the poor rating? Our friend’s daughter had a poor experience. The 3yo was nervous and shyly crying at the beginning. Her hairdresser was acting rushed and bothered by your 3 yo customer. Isn’t this supposed to be a place for children? The two side-by-side experiences were night and day! We felt bad for our friend and her little girl. Their hairdresser rushed off to her next customer (during our scheduled time). She hardly engaged with the child or mother. This is a poor reflection on the entire business. I would suggest inquiring whether or not your hairdressers like children during the interview process. I hope if our friend decides to return, that she and her daughter have a better customer experience. We do want to thank Karla for our positive experience.

Took my daughter for a diva day. And the whole time I felt like they were rushing to get her out of there. My daughter didn’t even get to pick how she wanted her hair. The lady just made a her a braid because it was the quickest thing for her to do to get her out. It would have been a lot nicer if the staff wouldn’t have made it so obvious that they were just trying to rush.

My kids do not like getting hair cuts. This place takes the attention off the haircut. They have cartoons on, and its just a fun looking place to be in. Make an appointment as they stay busy! Quick hair cuts, in a and out with the appointment made.

Extremely overpriced for the little bit of hair they cut from my granddaughters head. The receptionist was not very personable. My granddaughter enjoyed the toys and sunglasses in the waiting area, as well as having her choice of cool themed chairs to sit in and kids movies to watch once it was her turn for a haircut. The hairdresser was super nice and patient. Overall, its just too expensive.

Hairdressers here are great with kids! This is the only place my son will go now. I also love that they keep records of his preferred hairstyle, so it looks great every time.

I wanted to say this is a great place and miss Amber Sharpe is not only a great person but a amazing stylist and shes amazing with my son I highly recommend this place for your kids and her shes Awesome!❤

Pricing is good. Some of the staff are great and others are not patient at all. Had to get my sons hair fixed because he hates hair cuts and the lady that worked with him this time was very patient with him and made sure he was comfortable.
