I hold Pete and his team in the highest regard. Their efficiency, pricing, professionalism, and craftsmanship far exceed anything I’ve gotten from a mechanic. I’ve brought my older model F-150 into them a few times always with some new and difficult tasks; CJ and Pete always make sure I leave with a truck that purrs.

They always seemed honest up front, but on one occasion they convinced my wife that the spare rim was incorrect for our truck (matching OEM aluminum rim that I had fitted when I bought it) and swapped it for garbage steel rim with mismatched tire size mounted on it. I wonder whos buddy was looking for the one they took.On the last occasion, they quoted me a go away price on my truck when they decided they thought I should junk it. I had it repaired to their exact quoted problem plus had two new pulleys and a new belt installed for half of their price at another reputable shop.

Writing this review is the least I could possibly do for this auto shop. They are the actual best. I discovered them while I was car shopping after moving to New Mexico a year(ish) ago. I brought them a car for a pre-purchase inspection based strictly on their good Google reviews. They happened to be close to the car I was considering buying, plus they offered a reasonable rate for the inspection when I called to ask if they could look at it the same day.Turned out the Jeep I was considering was kind of a lemon. Thankfully, Pete was completely up front about the potential issues. (As in- hey, we really like Jeeps, but this one has some tubes and cables that arent connected to anything.)I decided against that car, and then ended up buying an 87 Chevy Blazer (without their consultation.) Unsurprisingly, the Chevy had some work that needed to be done. I decided based on that very first interaction that Petes shop was a good place to start working on it. A year and change later, they are the only mechanics that I am interested in talking to at all. I have tried many. They dont over diagnose, fix what is necessary, and listen well. Honest and efficient. I have a transmission issue that requires a specialist. They gave me a referral and didnt charge me for the evaluation. Very happy with the experience.

We just moved to Albuquerque and needed service on my truck. We decided to try the Ford dealers first. Power Ford and Rich and was displeased with both service departments. Both were trying to oversell.Pete’s auto care came highly recommended.CJ was very informative and helpful.I want the world know these folks are honest and dependable. They could’ve taking me for a ride but instead were straightforward with actual repairs such as a loose bolt In my steering system. Which could’ve caused serious injuries to my family or somebody else’s family. The forementioned dealers did not catch this problem but instead tried to up sell front end work. Pete’s auto care did not charge much for the repair. Highly recommended.

Came by to get some maintenance done on my car in preparation for a roadtrip. In my mind I thought i needed tons of work so I had a list, but the fellas at Petes went over everything and only did a radiator flush that was needed. Most shops wouldve just done it and you would have paid for maintenance that wasnt needed. Super honest and the owner was super friendly. We chatted it up about everything and even about green and red chile. (Im from L.A we dont have that there) I will definitely come back when the time is right to get more work done. Fast friendly and reliable service.

We have been stranded on the side of the road twice after getting our car back. We were told the battery was new and fully charged, we found out later it was refurbished and no good. We decided to go somewhere else to get an new battery.

New to ABQ, was reluctant to find a new mechanic. Asked a few neighbors, then checked BBB and reviews, and took my truck to Pete. He listened to my description of issues I noticed and walked me through his initial diagnosis. Then, he called me with updates and options for my budget, and completed the repairs when he said he would. He even made a few suggestions for future maintenance! Definitely will he returning.

Awesome service from Pete! We were passing through New Mexico and found out our brake lights were not working and it wasn’t the bulbs that were the problem. Hitting close to closing time Pete fit us in and got everything fixed in record time. He was so kind and accommodating and we were on our way in no time to continue driving through New Mexico. I took my car in at the beginning of June to get some brakes done and a power steering leak fixed. My mother recommended Pete’s as she has taken her car to him before and always had a great experience. Boy was she right. I made an appointment and within a couple hours, they let me know exactly what was wrong with the brakes and leak. They explained everything and let me know a price with tax included before working on it. I got my car back the same day. My brakes are amazing and the leak is fixed. The employees were nice and friendly. They have an expansive knowledge of cars, trucks, and the like. I believe I found my trusted mechanic.

Petes Auto Care is the best car care service in Albuquerque. Ive had my vehicle here several times and always treated with exceptional courtesy and professionalism. The repair schedules are timely with fast return, prices very reasonable, mechanics with outstanding expertise, results that exceed every expectations. Im a middle aged now single lady, and have very little knowledge of car mechanics. I will trust no other car care place with my vehicles maintenance needs as Petes is the most dependable anywhere.

We were traveling across the country with a small camper when we realized our Explorer needed some maintenance/repairs. We were concerned about going to a new place in a new city, but he had good reviews so we decided to try it. We arrived at Pete’s around 11:30am on a Friday. Pete greeted us with a warm welcome and he looked under the hood to give us an estimate of time and cost. He clearly explained the details and options. The location was convenient to many local stores so we walked around. By 1:30pm we had our car back with all of our issues fixed. His rates were reasonable and we were really pleased with the turnaround and quality of service.

Pete’s Auto Repair is hands down the best Auto Repair Shop in Albuquerque! All of the staff mechanics were extremely professional and had EXCELLENT customer service! They also were able to fix my 2010 Yukon XL Denali within a few hours for a reasonable price!

We are from Eastern Nebraska and our van started having issues coming into Albuquerque, so we really needed a shop that wouldnt take advantage of our situation. We found Petes and are very grateful for the work completed. They got us up and running with no concerns of our van breaking down on us again. They could have taken advantage, but they were honest and the price for the work they did was more than reasonable. They did all of this inside 2 days from contacting them. This is where my dad and I take all of our vehicles. They have the most reasonable mechanic hourly rate I have yet to find. The mechanic is honest and upfront and not going to BS us into doing anything that is not really needed. I would recommend them to anybody I know over and over

I took my car in today because I was having some problems with the battery/alternator. I didnt know what exactly was going on with my car but they solved it for me! Pete and CJ were super nice and had great customer service. It did take awhile because they were a bit busy but to me thats a good sign. I would rather take my car somewhere where its busy and they do excellent work/have excellent service than some of the other places I have been. Thank you guys!

Pete and his entire team are the most friendly, professional and honest group of mechanics that I have had the pleasure of meeting since I left Cleveland OH in 1987. Pete suggested changing tires after changing a lock. Tires are brand new. This seems like a scam for me to buy tires from him. Cant trust his suggestions.

Pete did an incredible job on my car. Had to fix brakes that someone else had done a few months ago. Did a phenomenal job, and even though there were a few additional things that had to get done, he didnt charge for labor on some things and even threw in a new belt for free. Only place Ill take my car from now on.

Ive been using Petes for awhile now and they are top notch. Recently I took my car in for a break issue and they called back to tell me I had a fuel leak. They could have stopped there and told me the cost to repair the issue (which would have been over $600) however CJ told me about a recall for GM cars and gave me a number to call to see if my car would be covered. When I called GM they advised me my car would be covered. Its not often that you find honest car mechanics. I know I wont take my cars anywhere but here.

I picked up a uhaul trailer from these guys. The truck had an electrical issue that they figured out and fixed for me. If I wasnt moving out of state I would have started to bring my car to them based on how they handled the situation.

I would keep an eye on this place if i was you and go somewhere else. I got an estimate for 3000 dollars on 500 dollars of work. So i have my proof that this place will try to get you if they can. Coming from a real person who has walked through these doors not a friend of the company.
