I wouldn’t even rate this place a 1 Star for the experience I had. They don’t value relationships or understand how rentals work. If you don’t have any cancellations or if you are calling from a large production company (not using your own money) and cancel, then this vendor might be fine, but they refused to adjust a rental agreement formality for a grassroots independent filmmaker after a 36-48 hour cancellation before pick up due to the shoot being cancelled. I would have understood store credit if I lived there in Albuquerque, but I don’t; I live in New York, and they wouldn’t work with me on even partial refund. Will never recommend this place, nor go back for business.

I got booked for a wedding gig all the way down in Albuquerque (Im from South Dakota) and I had to start thinking about what I was going to do for equipment. Flying my turntables and mixer down was going to be around $400 alone, not including renting sound and lights. I did a quick google search and came across Lesmans. I called Lesmans and talked to Angel, who was super helpful and friendly, and he quickly sent me a quote for turntables, sound, and lights, which was very affordable and less than what it would cost to ship my turntables and mixer alone. The day of the gig, I went to the store to pick up everything and they had all the equipment ready to go. I definitely recommend them to anyone needing to rent equipment in the Albuquerque area.

Took in my Roland Td-10 for repair of power supply. Was told 6-8 weeks and no guarantee of the possibility of repair. 3 weeks later: Td-10 is functioning PERFECTLY. I will be taking my gear to Lesmens for repair from now on.

If I dont need to purchase something, I can rent anything that I need for specific events and they keep getting better! Highly recommended by this professional.

Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I went to Grandmas Music and no one could even acknowledge us, despite being the only customers in the store. At Lesmans everyone acknowledged us, and they had exactly what we needed. Spend your money here folks!

Who has time for this? I’m taking the time because I need to let new prospective customers know. I have been signed to a major label in L.A., a mid-size label, and I’ve been a nobody musician. Through all of the repairs I’ve needed cumulatively, I have never been treated as poorly as I was by Lesmen’s in this one encounter:*Brought them an SVT810E cabinet that I knew had one blown speaker on 01/23/18, asked them to have their repairman check it out for me.*Called repeatedly to get it done, had an upcoming tour of Southern California with one gig being an outdoor concert: “too busy, hadn’t looked at it yet, need to order one speaker/put it in, give us 1 ½ mo.s!”*Playing gigs all over NM, some in large professional rooms, with my back-up rehearsal gear.*Finally forced them to give my cabinet back 05/08/18 (leaving on tour the next day) with the one speaker finally replaced and the repairman, who finally spoke to me that day for the first time, saying I needed to give him more time as other speakers were weak!Not once had they called me to give me any updates in over three months, until the day before I picked it up. I had been friendly, polite, patient beyond the call of duty. Now I was livid. I told them that since 01/23 they’d certainly serviced their friends’ equipment that was brought in after I brought in my cabinet and got theirs back to them in good time. Not the clerk, the manager, or the repairman standing there denied that. They reacted by looking down silently. I took it home that night. The speakers were buzzing so I had to take my low-level rehearsal gear on the tour.I don’t know if they didn’t like the color of my hair, the way I dressed, my last name, the original music my band plays. They wouldn’t tell me what it was that put me on the backburner like that. They demanded the same payment as if the repairman had fixed it in two weeks. I marveled that they could treat a customer that way. The manager mumbled to me, “This company’s been in business for 60 years.” That was his answer! There’s an organization that grew out of the South after the Civil War that has treated people with disrespect for 150+ years, so they have Lesmen’s beat.So, if you don’t use your poorly functioning gear and want to put it in a corner of their shop for four months, and you don’t mind them choosing you to treat unfairly and not communicate with you, or you’re one of their friends, by all means have your work done there. But if you are not their friend, and that disrespect would bother you, do not have your work done there. The Lesmen’s manager there said they don’t need to treat certain people fairly, they have enough friends to keep them in the money without your business.

Lessmans is the best music store in New Mexico. Guitar Center is pushed every locally owned music store out of business. Lessmans has hung in there and provide Professional Service. Guitar Center technicians, or so they like to believe, are just glorified wannabes. The people at lessmans only hire the best.

My speakers in my guitar cabinet where blow i knew that much, so i take it into these guys to get an appraisal as well as to double check the wiring inside the stock cab to make sure it was fine and undamaged. they did not give me an appraisal and it took them about 2 months to get me my item back, they swore their tech was out of town for that entire 2 months which is ridiculous because this should have only taken an afternoon at most. i stopped in the store multiple times and each time they told me it will be ready in a week, each time was a lie. When the tech did look at it basically all he said was the speakers are blow. no prices on new speakers, im certain they did not inspect the wiring in the cab and they didnt even bother to look at the horn in the cab. the tech did not meet with me face to face and the cashier/audio expert had no clue what i was asking for or talking about when it came to the inside of a guitar cabinet. im no expert but after dealing with this i would assume i must be this was a $30 charge i could have lived without.

This company is a damn disaster. It took 32 days from the time my CD package was submitted for production. They farmed out the project to another company, who then took three weeks to send back an unshrinkwrapped pile of CDs, forgot to send back the master recordings as well and dragged their feet and made excuses every step of the way. Advice: avoid the bullcrap and go local and not this expensive horrorshow.
