I have been having issues with the service for the last year since the pandemic, when speaking to the Over the phone tech department, most of them dont know what theyre doing and my wifi was connected for over a year and the lady tech over the phone trouble shooted my modem and now its not connecting and I work from home 8am til and they set up an appointment and tell me they cant come on the day Im off. And wake up the morning I asked to have since Im off that day...a tech is next door.. really. Bad business and now I dont have WiFi πŸ€”πŸ˜‘

Dear mediacom. We have lived at our house for 7 years without internet bc out neighborhood is new and it had never been available. Finally mediacom dug lines through the yard and the neighborhood. Now that it is available everyone in the neighborhood is calling to get the Mediacom Internet. I called Wednesday and paid a $100 installation fee and then a $100 first months service fee totaling 200 and something dollars and was told that Saturday was the fastest that it could be installed. Other people in the neighborhood called and every person was given a different price on installation if they were even charge for installation and people even called on Thursday and got it installed on Friday. There seem to be no rhyme or reason to the pricing arrangement as everyone got a different price depending on what associate they spoke with. I was scheduled for today Saturday installation between 10 o’clock and 12 o’clock. A subcontractor arrived at around 1030 and then told us that he was unable to install our services because he didn’t know how to run a wire down the wall. It was clear that he was just trying to get out of work that he didn’t want to do. I was even willing to help if needed bc I am personally capable of running the wire that he was unable to run. He said we would have to reschedule and someone else would have to come and run the wire down the wall. Why would you all send an installation technician to my home and waste everyone’s time that can’t do simple task such as run a wire. I could have ran the wire by myself if I had the coax cable to do it. I’m getting my 200 dollars back and you people can come and get this modem you guys sent that your technician was to lazy to hook up and I’m going to pray that att finishes running cable in our neighborhood soon so I can get att internet. They have technicians that are capable of installing modems in a new house of all things. The house is only 7 years old. Thanks for wasting half of my sat morning waiting on a lazy sub contractor that dosent want to work on Saturday and looks for any Reason at all to not install the modem.

I was scheduled for disconnection NEXT Friday and they showed up a week earlier and disconnected my internet service. I didnt have an APPOINTMENT when the tech showed up and disconnected me today duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. OMG do NOT use them for cable or internet. No one deserves this level of incompetent service.

The representative was very nice,friendly and helpful. I returned products only to change my mind after shed done all of the work to get it returned. She was so professional, she acted as if it didnt faze her. She even agreed that us keeping the product was the best thing to do in order to save money. She didnt have an attitude, which is so refreshing when doing business. We just chatted it up while she finished the process. Im sure it helped that they were also, not very busy.

My Internet went out Saturday afternoon and when I called support the automated system wouldnt let me speak to anyone. It kept saying there was an outage. After trying for 5 hours, I finally got someone on the line (a real person)! Absolutely ridiculous! I work from home and need reliable trustworthy service. Come to found out, there was NO outage in our area. At least thats what the rep said. Why is such a large company so awful at communicating CORRECT information? Wasted 5 hours for nothing, then told it would be 6 day before someone would be able to come to my home. Why are there no emergency service request? Really wish there was another, better provider in our area.

Ive had this service since 2015 and Im looking for another provider. You get charged when someone comes to fix the equipment (they dont tell you they just add it to your bill). The internet needs major upgrades but its my fault so they charge me. Any deals/bundles are only available to new people not their customers. The prices are outrageous and they are disrespectful to their customers. My services are pretty much bare bones and its still $75.00 a month. That is too much. I spend too much time calling and waiting for service on this account. Cant wait until our relationship is over.

Worst company ever. I havent had stable internet service since I started with them in 2015. Ive had to change modems twice. I went to the local office to turn in the third modem yesterday. The rep asked if I had the second modem thats listed on the account that Im not being charged for during billing. I told her I only had one modem. She says my account is showing 2 and that she will put in a ticket. I called customer service after I left the office and was told that the modem in question was one that I called about back in 2016 for a technician to respond and exchange. The technician never put into the system that he took the modem and never took it off of my account. The rep on the phone said Unfortunately, youre going to have to pay for the modem since we cant find it if you cancel service. Highway robbery. I really dont want to pay for something I dont have and that Im not responsible for. The technician apparently gets away with stealing company equipment and not doing his job properly and IM supposed to pay for it. Horrible company. Use another service.

I have been a Mediacom internet customer for over 12 years. My internet service has been horrible in the most recent months. Constantly going in and out all day. The issue starts around 11 a.m. as it starts to get hot and then tapers off around 6:30 p.m. after it cools down. I am paying for a service that I literally cannot use consistently for my job which is a work from home position. I have several technicians make visits to my home and have spent hours on the phone trying to get someone to help resolve the ongoing issues but no one has resolved the issue. Received one credit when I first started having the issues three months ago but no offer of any credit since then. Very disappointed!

I see most of ur reviews are bad ones I called the Loyalty Dept. to complain about the exorbitant price of my service, which is $57.26 per month for Basic cable channels 2 thru 28, of which I only 5 or 6 are worth watching. Besides the point that the service has regular problems and when u call them to fix THEIR problems, they jack up ur bill again, as many as 3 times in one year! All my friends are with Dish because they refuse to use Mediacom! I would stay with them IF THEY WOULD CHARGE A FAIR PRICE for what they are selling me. So why dont u CONTACT me and offer me a lower price and NOT require me to have other bundled services that I DO NOT want! Interesting to see what kind of response I will get or just more B.S.

Absolutely worst customer service Ive ever had ANYWHERE!!! Lost all of our services and it took 7 days to get someone here, then the cable still didnt work. On the 11 day, we had an appt that we had to be available from 8 am too 8 pm. At 7 that night they called and the tech ran out of the equipment he needed so they said I needed to reschedule. I rescheduled for hours of 8 am to 10 am. They didnt call or show. When I called, they said he was tied up with installs on the base and would try to get someone here by noon. Then when I called that no one showed up, they rescheduled to 3:45. Still no one here!!!

Quite possibly the worst ISP in the United states or world. My internet has been out for a month and everytime I call to get someone out here to fix they dont know how to fix and say they need to get someone else to do it. Imagine being a company whos technicians dont know how to do their job. I was told that my internet would be fixed withing 48 hours of the last technician and its been 44 hours so if no one shows up, Im cancelling and looking for something else. I would not recommend mediacom for internet or cable. Highly disappointed.

I was in the path of hurricane Michael. The entire service on our road was knocked out. As any rational human being would think I gave mediacom 2 weeks to restore my service before even calling to inquire. During that time mediacom contractors restored the main line supplying our street, they also restored service to the houses on the south side of the road as that is the side with the main service. They failed to reinstall the drops over the road to the north end houses. I called mediacom and alerted them to the problem for the second time. They said they would get to us shortly. The third week I noticed one of the 2 drops had been restored so I called again. They said they would come out and restore mine and my neighbor’s drop that week. That Friday they fixed the drop to our houses. But for some ridiculous reason only restored my neighbor’s service. We are on the same pole. His service is connected to the pole less than 2 inches from my service! Why would you not restore both on the same service call?! So now out of 13 services on my road I am the only one still currently without cable and internet. It is going on week 4 and still no end in sight. Again I was willing to be patient with the massive devastation, but the sheer incompetence of not restoring all services in one area before moving on is just beyond me! If my service is not restored by end of day today 11/05/2018, I will be cancelling my service and moving to DISH!

THE WORST PROVIDER EVER! DO NOT CALL TECHS DIRECTLY IF THEY ASK YOU TO CALL THEM. CALL MEDIACOM EVERYTIME YOU HAVE A PROBLEM. That is the only way to document that you are having issues. WHO WANTS THE SERVICE FOR FREE IF IT DOESNT EVEN WORK??!!!If you can find some place else in this small city, please do. Ive had this crappy service since November/December. It was somewhat bearable, but it kept going out. I didnt feel like dealing with all the hassle of having to take off work so I didnt complain until February. February I called and no one came out, I went into the office to inform them no one came and they said they would send someone..no one came. I called again and finally got them to confirm my appointment and I also told them that I didnt think it was right that I was paying every month, but barely getting service. The rep took care of 1 months bill for me. Great...but still terrible service so he sent a tech out, but had to wait awhile for an appointment. The tech came out and said he needed to fix the wiring. He came back to fix that, still issues. He then said we needed to replace the box. He ordered a box and the wrong one came. He then had to come back AGAIN when the new box arrived. This was by the end on March beginning of April that i finally got someone to come out and fix the internet...but guess what... its now May and the internet still goes out, I cant even connect to the connection that says 5G (which the service rep just told me is labelled wrong and should actually be the 2.4...wow). I texted the rep that had already come 3-4 times, but he didnt respond anymore, so I called Mediacom to set up another appointment. The tech came for a short time, looked around and said we probably need a new box (well I have only had that one for less than a month). He then said he had to get a new box and while I was in my room letting him do his thing, he actually left my house without saying ANYTHING and never came back. He closed out my ticket and didnt make any service notes at all. He just closed it like he was done the job and my internet was completely off after that. I called customer service again and they tried to reach the tech, but couldnt. They claimed a supervisor would contact me, but instead of that happening, they sent me an email for an appointment 2 days later....are you kidding me? I waited almost a week for this appointment, the tech just leaves my house without fixing anything and then I have to wait another 2 days without internet? wow....So I called again, I spoke to some incompetent call center supervisor who was no help (Antoinette) and she basically told me that all they could do is send someone out sometime that day by 8pm. Nothing else was offered, except a very dry and generic sorry for the inconvenience she also told me that medicom does not compensate for inconveniences, so even if they are at fault they wont do anything about it. Then she told me that since the tech walked out on me that she would offer $20...$20 on my bill, but she claims that there arent any real service records on my account so she cant do more than give me $15 for messed up service. How do you have 2 technicians come between 5 visits and there arent any records....here is how.....The techs get over, and so does the company.If you call the techs directly, they dont put it into the system so there is no record. ALWAYS CALL MEDIACOM...NEVER THE TECHS. Also, if you have certain issues, Mediacom does not code it as a technical issue all the time. So when I had to get the wires fixed and a new box, they did not record that as a service issue although my internet was still not working well between getting those services. So in the system it shows that I only had 1 service call. They dont care what issues you tell them you have been having or that you reported to a technician. If it is not put into the computer system as a technical complaint they will not care...BEWARE!

I am supposed to have super internet speed of at least 50 MPS - most of the time the service is very slow 1-10 MPS. I have had repair people come in 4-5 times. The cable was replaced twice and their router was replaced as well. Still the same results slow service. The customer service department seems unable to resolve the issue. I would expect better service for $74/month. In addition, I have 3 people from media asking me if I would like to upgrade to a faster speed. my response was if your current service is not good, why would I desire an upgrade???!!!! Mediacom needs to get their act together!!!!!!!!!

They allow people to fraudulently open accounts and then refuse to send you bills to prove the account so you can use it for a dispute against them. Which, if it has my name and info on it- they have to. It takes over a month for a tech to come and do anything. i had them once back in 2005. Phone and internet went out. Waited a month and a half for a tech that never showed. While they badgered me to add more services..No thanks! Found a fraudulent account that was open reported to my credit and they refuse to send me anything in relation to the account because the supervisor knows I can prove it was not me and he demanded I pay him now for the stuff that wasnt returned. Thats going to be another no from me. They were not even willing to accept a percentage of the amount just to have it gone rather than having to file police reports and drag it out for months( which is mediacoms game anyway) The techs are rude, office staff is rude, customer service does not exist within this company and you would do better just to get internet elsewhere, ROKU, APPLE or FIRESTICK TV and netflix. Im on month three with this ISP and my internet hardly works. They gave me a new modem and barely after a week my internet still doesnt work. Im without internet weeks at a time waiting on a freaking technician. This is ridiculous! Im in school and I have an online business. This company this the worst internet experience I have ever had, the only reason I am leaving this review is because this is the last straw. I have been using this service for almost a year now and I have to call them every 2 weeks to fix my internet and every time it is worse. The only reason it takes me two week is because that is the same about of time it takes to get a tech out here. I do not even blame mediacom as a company, just the Albany branch is horrible. All I got the internet to do is Play League of Legends and some console games. If would drop them completely if I could but for my apartment complex this is the only company I can have here. If it takes a tech 2 weeks to come out either you are understaffed, always messing up, or your staff is lazy. on the week for making this I have been to the mediacom building three times and clearly it was a waste of gas. 1st time I needed a new modem because mine was too outdated, they said they didnt have any in the back come back tomorrow at 2pm. Ok I walked out with a smile and just ordered one online, was a docis 3.1, it got here two days later. But because the modem I ordered was too new it wasnt communicating a good enough signal. Fine so I went back to the store to exchange it with a docis 3.0 the lady hands me one so old that it has dust on it (but remember the day I came up there they didnt have anything for me at all). Of course I get it home and it take 2 hours to receive a signal then after that data drops every 3 mins so the only thing I can do is watch youtube. I really hope someone from the company looks at this and helps me I would really like to have the internet I deserve that I keep paying for.

Worst internet provider I have ever had. The people on the phones at the customer service center are fantastic, I will give them that. I have had them come out 4 times in the last few months for poor and interrupted internet service. All 4 times I got the same answer, there was an old adaptor. The scheduled maintenance is at 1 am. Which is fine if your able to go sleep early or dont have a deadline. And God forbid its raining outside because the second those cables get wet your internet will either reach the speeds of 1992 or goes out completely. I hope your not in a hurry to get your internet fixed either. It takes about a week and half to get someone to your house... CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?!?!

Mediacom sucks!! Ive never had working wifi, except for maybe about an hour total since getting it hooked up. When i called about it, it took 2 weeks for someone to come look at it. So far Ive had 3 techs out to fix it with no results. Still waiting on number 4. I was told someone was coming three different times, and nobody ever showed up. Then I was told I wouldnt be charged for the wifi since it wasnt working. But when i got my bill they charged me almost $50 for something I cant even use! Not to mention that when the guy came to do the original install he ran the cables across the middle of my living room. When I told him to move them because I have young kids and pets, and its a trip hazard, I was told to go buy a rug to cover it! I hate mediacom. They dont follow through and their service and customer service is horrible.

Ive had 8 service call since May 2017. Plus, a additional 3 service calls that MediaCom cancelled without informing me. Was suppose to get $20 for there no show no call technicians​.......never received credit so this company feels its ok to waste my time for hours and days at a time. Poor internet connection, TiVo sometimes work because it depends in WiFi, and poor phone service. Ive had a total of Three internet boxes. Was suppose to get a credit but they took that back. How can u reverse a credit when your providing a customer with Poor or no service. MediaCom wants there money but I desire good service. I pay my money for their half ass service........But if a pay half ass money, well my service will be disconnected .......Im still waiting on better service. Will contact BBB on this matter.

Very dissatisfied with this company. Sales rep calls and sell me a plan. He absolutely lied about the price it cost to upgrade. After charging a cancelation fee, which was fixed after calling. The monthly bill is still way more than was promised. The tv service is terrible to boot. So I plan canceling my service. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. ...No stars but forced to do so.. They do not try and correct falsely billed services but always refer customer to call the 800 number instead of trying to help customers that are there standing before them. Bill contract was dishonored and bill was increased tremendously after 3 and 6 months.

I just moved down from Canton to Albany and figured, dealing with Comcast, it would be a pain to get my internet set up. Far from it. The gentleman who came out to do the install was courteous and professional. My download speed exceeds what I pay for (it has been well over 100 Mbps every time I tested it), and the Wi-Fi works beautifully. Ive had to call customer service twice, and both times Ive got a straightforward answer to my question and my issue resolved (once was because I needed the installation guy to bring the equipment with him and the second was to help me set up my online account). I could not be happier with the service and the high standards of customer service. Thanks yall!

We have been calling for almost a whole month about our WiFi not working. Every time they tell us okay in 15 minutes it should be working it never is. They also told us we never had WiFi and that we must have been stealing it from the neighbors, why would the neighbors have a WiFi signal under our name?? When we ask to speak to a supervisor they refuse. They finally scheduled someone to come out and look at the problem physically, but no one ever came. Really getting fed up.

Internet service is crappy rather have Comcast. Price went up after a year without being informed. Pay premium for limited amount but has only worked right maybe 5 days in the past 2 months. Glad we are moving soon.

I’m only giving this place three stars bc I called the 1-800 number to find out if they had a certain length cable and the representative assured me that they had one the length that I needed. I went up there waited thirty minutes in line only for the lady to seem upset with me for even asking for a cable. Actually said that the previous representative that I had spoken with β€œlied”. She did not offer another solution, and there was no way to call the establishment directly, so no way to know what they have in stock.

We are terminating our services with Mediacom. They missed 3 service appointments in 4 days. Their technicians lied and said that they contacted me and fixed the issue. However thats a lie because they never called or showed up. I cant do business with a company that lies to its customers.
