Gym is absolutely packed every time you go. Can’t ever get to a rack, no benches available, no dumbbells available etc. went to cancel my membership because of this and was told it would be $58 because the promotional period i signed up during didn’t have “free cancellation” in the fine print. Lol it’s funny how I’m charged $58 to cancel a membership that is free for others to cancel. Save yourself the headaches and go to a real gym.

One of the best PF locations. You can tell the owner cares about their clients. The showers had the best design with a private dry changing area right outside your shower and the inner shower with a clear curtain for security. Staff is friendly. Nice clean place that wasnt too crowded.

Joined and went for first time today. Very clean. Staff and customers very respectful. Locker room was clean, and boundaries were respected. Bathroom was clean enough. The gum provides cleaning stations to disinfect equipment before and after use, and most patrons seem to do that. Wide range of equipment, and they stay true to the no judgement, no criticism policy. I like their app for hands free check in. All in all, a good place regardless of your level.

I go to the gym every day and they always have everything at the gym and the machine they always clean and all the employees they do a great job

Too many members are allowed to wear pretty much anything, many are wearing very little. Too many are inappropriately dressed and too exposed creating unnecessary sexual tension.

This is the first and only business that has refused us entry because we were wearing face/neck coverings instead of earloop masks. Our covering material is thicker and does not have gaps, unlike earlobe masks. This is absolutely ridiculous!

The gym itself is mediocre and usually smells bad. I dont trust going there during a pandemic.My real issue is that I was getting charged for my monthly gym membership because I didnt realize the gym had re-opened. I havent been there for 9 months, but then I get hit with the yearly fee, too. Its like throwing money in the garbage. The manager refused to reimburse me for any of these fees and also says I have to send certified mail or come in to cancel.I find it pretty despicable that they run the business this way, and I would urge current members to cancel and any potential members to consider another gym.Shady

The gym is great but the head manager is the worst.If your at all fit or in shape ..watch out she is out to get you. she harassed me every morning along with other members.

Awful service. The manager Jasmine is not there to help her customers at all she was extremely rude to me and she was actually the one that was responsible for the mistake that was made. I put my membership on hold for three months at the latham gym and they confirmed it to me verbally atleast three times before i left. Now when one month went by i got charged for my membership again which i was highly upset about. When i tried to confront the Albany manager about it she had every excuse in the book for why the company was not responsible for her mistake she made. When i was persistent with my problem she ended up just saying“i cant hear you” so id stop. She also claimed that the workers at latham gave me wrong information about how long my freeze term was and that i cant cancel membership through the phone and i had to do it in person; which Latham said i could do it over the phone now because of corona. Turns out that they actually only put my account on freeze for one month and not three which was never said to me. And when you sign confirming everything you sign through a POS system, so you cant read over the contract it just gives you the box to sign. Who only does freezes in accounts for only one month? That seems so pointless just so they can scam you of money. I ended up not having the money to pay for my bills because they robbed me and did not refund me. I don’t even use my membership either. So once i found out they dont really care about their customers i went to cancel my membership entirely because i didnt want to get screwed again. When i told them my reason and even started the coworker helping me interrupted me and did not put my real reason down for the cancellation she put down “coronavirus” which i need to call and change because thats not the real reason at all. Awful and I’ll never give planet fitness my buisness again from how they treated my situation.

Was good when I was going there, but only being able to cancel by mail or in person is a shady business practice. PF should reconsider the policy.

I have reached out multiple times to cancel my daughter membership and they still continued to take money from my account, I don’t recommend this gym to anyone. It’s all about getting your money😡😡😡i also called and spoke to a supervisor there to get my money reimbursed and Jazmin said they couldnt which i thought was not the truth. if you are a supervisor you could have done it, but we will never use this gym again. It shouldnt be about the money, you dont take out a gym fee when the gym hasnt been opened in months due to the Pandemic but Planet Fitness still took money out and the yearly fee of $39, money hungry is what i call it

Unable to cancel membership. Assistant manager told me the managers new policy is that only the manager can do a cancellation. He called the manager and confirmed. They had expected me to come back when the actual manager was there to cancel. I called another location who told me this is not correct and is against company policy. Do not trust the management at this location. I walked in to the next closest location and every member of planet fitness agreed that the policy the manager at the Albany location was against company policy and was unacceptable. The other location was very helpful and was able to cancel my membership by a teammate that was not at managment level.

Orderly well oriented gym. Welcoming to people of all ages from youth to seniors. One of the few places that has a wide variety of gym equipment and clean changing rooms.

Compared to my home gym, I was slightly disappointed. The equipment in the back (cables) and such were dates. The attachments were ages and clearly used. Some of the equipment had seen better days. They didnt have a great water fountain, and I was hoping they had a water bottle refill station, but they didnt. The locker rooms were actually pretty nice, which was cool.The gym wasnt organized in an intuitive fashion. The front where the cardio equipment was was clustered tightly and didnt have a real flow. while this wasnt the staffs fault, the equipment was sort of dirty. The gym users didnt do a great job cleaning up after themselves, which explains why the equipment was probably looking the way it did.Maybe Im spoiled by my hometown gym. Maybe my expectations are high. But this is a chain gym and I was expecting a little more and a little more congruency. Id come back if I needed to, but this wouldnt be my first choice.

Its a planet fitness.If you want some world class gym, go elsewhere. If you want a wide array of equipment in a low-stress setting so you can get your sweat on, this is the place.

Super welcoming atmosphere and the staff is very polite. The equipment is also great. The memberships are also very affordable.

A great planet fitness. Kind of an interesting narrow building, but its got everything I need and is always clean. Oh and that shower pressure makes it easy to get in and out quick!

Not happy with this place at all, especially since I know it could do better as the Planet Fitness I go to normally (I’m using this location temporarily while visiting family) is exponentially better. This location is only open 24 hours 4 days a week, which is inconvenient for me. There are no reusable microfiber cloths available to wipe down the machines so you have to bring your own cloth unless you want to use the provided paper towels (which work as well as cardboard in terms of absorption). None of the machines I like to use best are here besides the elliptical. Even at that, the elliptical is so annoying. Every minute or few minutes or so a message that says “slow down to reduce heart rate” comes across the screen and blocks my stats, which are what I care about seeing when I go to check them. Also, the machine beeps loudly when you take one of your hands off of them to take a sip of water. When I grabbed a yoga mat to use, there was a bug on it, and when I wiped it down afterwards this gross black residue came off on my towel I brought. The locker room smells like old, uncleaned feces every day I walk in. There is a five minute limit on the two massage chairs and rather than having more chairs there are what, 8 tanning bed rooms or so??? They can’t be that popular can they?? 😂 Can’t wait to get back to my usual location.

They cancelled my membership....cancel reason..lunk.....manager with horrible attitude tried to enforce the no gym bags on the floor ....everything gets ugly when he tried to take my gym bag to the front desk....i dont think he is supposed to touch my belongings without my permission. Because of my job i been working out in many different PF locations (NY,CT,MA)..and i always had a great experience with kind and helpful gym staff ....also always carried my small gym bag with me and never been judged for ....also...never saw a sign stating this rule....please be more clear about this..PF is responsible for lost or stolen belongings from lockers?...if no....then i feel more safe carrying with me my keys, wallet, gloves,small towel and headphones all the time...

I already love this place. Its as comfortable as the staff are warm and friendly. Every machine I can imagine can be found here, and Planet Fitness no judgement policy rings true. I feel comfortable and confident here, with literally no anxiety or fear. I love this place.

I have mixed emotions. Although I visit often and get a good workout, the mens locker room is awful...whomever is in charge of cleaning floors needs to understand you need to sweep before you mop. And dont mop the locker room at peak times. The lockers need wiping down inside and out...pretty gross sometimes.

Staff is nice, and there are quite a few machines which is needed as this is a high traffic gym. My biggest issue is how the mens locker room smells. No other planet fitness Ive been to has had a locker room that smells that rancid. Its repulsive.Update: Dropped to one star. Through the pandemic Planet Fitness has been awful about doing right by their customers. Ive been charged the annual fee and several monthly fees and I havent even been there for a year.

Great amenities staff is always friendly. Clean establishment always. The staff is very knowledgeable about equipment and services

Cheap and clean

Been a member at this location for 3 years. Too many “lunks” and staff avoids those individuals, going against the prevention of customer intimidation. Paper towels are hardly filled. Staff do not enforce cleaning equipment. This company is so fortunate their rates are cheapest in town or else they would be closed.

Pretty good Planet Fitness, but could benefit from a deadlift bar and maybe some punching bags.

Its not a bad gym for the size. They make use of their space.

Impressive, they have all kinds of machinery to do all the daytime exercises.

When it comes to this planet fitness, I would stay away. This is one is the worst planet fitness I have been too. It is cramped, dirty, and theft is rampant.

Cheap monthly fee and they have the cleanest facilities of any gym I have been too. I have the PF Black Card so I use a few different locations and all offer the same quality experience and amenities.

Popular but not jammed. Haircuts here! Preferred the old machines, had larger range of motion and weight feel.

The facility is great the only problem I have is the manager. He is very cold and unapproachable. The other staff and facility is great.

So this is right next to the college. That makes the seasonal peaks even worse. Also the 30 minute workout area is great, but alot of people fail to read or care about the fact that those doing the routine are blocked by them wanting to park bench or sit on the machines for multiple rotations.

They have recently upgraded machines and televisions, which is a nice touch. They have also clearly trained their staff to be nicer. It gets really crowded at peak times, however, so I would try to go at less-popular times to ensure machine availability or expect to wait.

Planet Fitness uses “Open 24 Hours” as a selling point. Other cities follow through on the hours. This facility even has the sign over the door (funny enough, lit up 24hrs). But it’s only open 24hrs 4 out of 7 days a week. I went on a Saturday night just to get there and the place is locked up. I looked at the contract and “24 Hour Access means: Access to the Planet Fitness Facility outside of normal staff operating hours, or as advised by Planet Fitness.“ so be cautious if you can only use the gym outside of standard times.

You get a membership and park you car at their parking lot to go workout and someone hits your car and leaves and they outright deny to show you the camera. This is when you need to decide, do they even deserve your business!!With regards to your reply- Location does have a camera pointing towards the parking lot and I was told by the manger that only the Police can access and they wont let me see it which of course is clearly not acceptable.

Staff is always friendly, kind, happy to help and I always leave with a kind “have a good night!” They upgraded the equipment (amazing!) and not too long ago added WiFi. I know they added some more smith machines too which I’m very thrilled about Bc I used to have to wait but now I usually get to use it right away on leg day. I love it here! Best pf in the area in my opinion. If they had the water massage beds it would be perfect :) very clean as well.

Good enough for decent workouts

Refused to cancel my membership even though it was the kind that was supposed to be easy to cancel. Sent multiple letters, was charged for 6 months and finally got them to cancel it over the phone. They have refused to refund me. Criminal and the worst kind of gym.

I went on a guest pass with someone else. It didnt cost me a penny, but It would have been worth it even if I had paid. I went back a few days ago and signed up. You cant beat the price and the array of machines is almost overwhelming!

I definitely have really no complaints. The only thing I wish they had is classes but thats about it. The people are nice, the equipment is up-to-date n its affordable. Cant beat it! Cancellations are free maybe after a year.

Great staff, good equipment. Lockers are destroyed in men’s room and towel dispensers are all terrible. Overall great place just needs better paper towel dispensers and some work on lockers.

To stay in a good shape, you need this place.

Great staff, clean, well mainyained equipment

Come from out of state to see family, I forgot my key card, no problems staff was super helpful and friendly. (The only reason I gave 2 stars and not 1) this Planet Fitness needs MAJOR upgrading. The locker rooms were horrible, the first locker I opened the bottom was completely torn out. The next 3 I opened were cracked you can tell people are pulling at them to break into them. I did not feel safe leaving my stuff in the lockers ever with a lock. Locker rooms were nice and clean. The equipment, all though some did seem new, needs major updates the gym is missing a lot of equipment that other Planet Fitness gyms do have. Last thing is this PF is very small I would hate to see it during peak times!

Love that its 24 hour and can go whenever I want

As a first time black member visitor, I was told there is a 5 minute limit on the massage chairs. After 6 months, and 13,000 miles of travel to dozens of PF locations, this was a first, having been given 10 minutes + at other locations. So I ask for the managers card and get this generic card with no name. The young man was adamit about this time limit, and gave me all the reasons to justify it. Its inconsistent with all other locations, and I wanted a good reason. There could have been an exception if your interested in abiding by dozens of other PF franchises. I didnt care for the poor demeanor, cocky atitude, and I am very disappointed.

A nice handsome gentlemen gave me a tour and I have fun each time I go.

Great place to workout, ive been going to this gym for about a month straight now. I have not had any issues with the workers. Always quiet when i go at night. Very clean.

Its an alright gym but it is missing equipment essential in a lot of workouts the kind of gym you go to before your serious about working out then you go to vent.

5 stars now that the WiFi working. Very nice staff especially Madison and Leon. Very much recommended.

Mostly crowded and No Hydromassage bed. Has a complementory barber who is racist - He told me that when I grow my beard, I look like terrorist! I like the one in Loudenville.

Great staff, clean and never too busy where you cant get to a machine you need. Very spacious

This is my main gym so I go here weekly around 7am most times. I like the vibe here and the separated stretching area. Theres a LOT of treadmills and ellipticals. They also have tanning beds and hair studios, but they dont have the hydro massages. The location is great if you dont have a car because its right on the 12 bus. Only qualm is one day it was busier, but the paper towels in 2 different places were empty and the employee there didnt replace them even when I pointed them out to her. This was closer to 11am, so I tend not to go there around that time.

A decent gym. There are a lot of people around my age - most of them UAlbany students - which is nice. Its always clean, and the staff is mostly friendly. Some of the patrons are the meathead type, which seems counter to what Planet Fitness advertises, but its not too much of an annoyance. One suggestion to management: for the love of whatever god you worship, please provide wifi!!

Theres no place to secure a bicycle. When I asked the guy at the desk of I could stash it somewhere inside, he told me to leave it in the foyer, which had nothing to chain my bike to. Probably not the best idea, my guy.

Missing/old equipment, cold and unhelpful staff, dirty... I guess the managers priorities are with his silly salon in the gym.

Me and my co-workers go in the middle of the night. The gym is clean and empty and a lot of space to work out.

The tanning beds are disgusting, there’s no way the clean and/or sanitize them. I walked in and there was dirt all over the head placemat of the bed 🤮🤮

The only PF Ive ever seen with free weight bench, nice people working, only down side theres no Wi-Fi they tell you to use the Micheals next door. (smh)
