My son started Sylvan two full grade levels below where he should be. Over the course of just a few months, the staff at Sylvan were able to bring my son up to grade level, boost his self confidence, and position him well for a successful school year.

The staff and teachers do a fantastic job! The testing is accurate. They do a great job building confidence in kids. They tutor to the skill that is lacking. We are very impressed with everything our son has learned at Sylvan Albany.

The staff at Sylvan of Albany are very caring and take time to get to know each child individually. The needs of each child are carefully evaluated and the program is geared toward meeting individual goals based on discussion with the child and parents.

My boys have been going to Sylvan now since the beginning of June ever since Covid hit. I was afraid they were going to be behind or struggle when the school year started again in September but since they have been there they have made such strides that I can confidently say they will not have any problems. The entire staff here at Sylvan is amazing I can’t get over how much patience they have with their students especially mine that both have ADHD. For any parents out there that feel their child needs something a little extra please sign them up it was the best decision I have made for my boys.

I cant say enough about how amazing Sylvan is! My 8 year old struggles with reading and anxiety. He fell a whole grade level behind during 1st grade, which destroyed his confidence. At Sylvan, he gets to work on reading skills at his own pace, as each childs program is tailored to that individual childs strengths and weaknesses. Hes made more progress in a matter of months at Sylvan than he did during a whole year of school. Plus, his confidence is slowly building, as he receives repeated positive reinforcement at every session and is seeing his hard work is paying off. He loves going to Sylvan and I love their results.

Carla and Patrick were very responsive and accommodating to a late in the year request for tutoring assistance. Following a discussion on my tutoring needs I received a call back from Patrick to set up a schedule and evaluation date to plan the tutor scheduled and needs going forward. I did not feel pressured to just sign up. The location in Albany was very accessible and the physical set up was quiet and conducive to learning. Most important, the start/stop time scheduled was prompt. As the expected code of conduct was quite clear I found the situation very relaxed and quiet.

Brining my child here has been an extremely positive experience... for the first time in a long time my child feels successful in learning! Would highly recommend to struggling families/ students!

We are very satisfied with the Algebra I Regents test preparation for our daughter Gianna. She was doing fine in class but was nervous about how she would do on her first Regents. She realized through instruction at Sylvan that she knew more than she thought she did and was therefore confident in her abilities. She ended up with a 90 on the test! Thank you Sylvan!

My daughter has been attending Sylvan for just over a year now. During this time we have seen a documented steady improvement in her performance both at school and at home. My grandson Daniel has been going to Sylvan in Clifton Park for over a year now. He was way below reading level when we started. Dan is still behind but that is due to a reading disability. Dan is almost up to level at this time. His confidence has increased greatly. The teachers are fabulous and are willing to help the children in any way they can.

It was a great day when my son Jared started college!! When we moved to a new school district at the beginning of 4th grade, they did admission testing because he was a new student. It was discovered that he was reading on a second grade level. School provided AIS tutoring once a week. It was taking too long and his other grades were impacted by his reading difficulties. I took Jared for testing at Sylvan. They agreed after testing that he was reading on a 2nd grade level. We mapped out a plan and he attended for several months. They brought his reading comprehension up to grade level. When Jared did his admission testing at HVCC, he scored a 98%!! Congratulations Jared and THANK YOU Sylvan!
