What a Great Experience to have in California,Definitely a must do if you are in Malibu Area,My Wife and I had fantastic time horse back riding, what a great gift for our Anniversary.beautiful view. Our Guide Chris was very friendly and experienced, she also told us that we were in the same place where West world was shot along of other tens of dozens of movies, thats pretty cool to know. Be sure to wear jeans, bring sunglasses, hat with string and apply sunscreen and you are all good to go for your trip. Definitely recommended, and we will do it again once we are back in California.

My husband and I had an amazing time on the Paramount Ranch trail. Chris was a great guide! She was very kind, fun and helpful. She made sure all the riders were comfortable throughout the entire ride. The views on the trail were absolutely spectacular, we would definitely do this again.

This was an experience of a lifetime!!!! I was in LA and decided to do something more exciting so I booked with Malibu Riders.At first all the rules, statements and notifications seem overly strict and intense but dont worry, the actual experience isnt. I would recommend you read the descriptions about the type of horseback ride. I made the mistake of not fully reading when I chose the canyons. I thought wed be riding around the canyons until I was riding up and through them. The heights are gorgeous but also terrifying on horseback if you are acrophobic.Our guide Chris was knowledgeable, kind and reassuring. She made my fear much more manageable. Even my horse went slow so I could feel safe. One thing for sure this was sooo scenic and amazing. The views! You have to see the views at the top of the canyons!! 😍🙌🏾!!Id recommend this to anyone and everyone. If you feel like its costly, remember to spend money on experiences instead of things. Youll have the memories forever

HAd a great time! Beautiful views and Ashley our tour guide was great! A few things to note that aren’t in the welcome email: if you want to wear a hat it needs to have a step that secures it to your head as ball caps are not permitted since they can fly off and spook the horses. Also, no need to bring a bag as extra things are not permitted. There is no cell service at the trail head so plan ahead if you don’t have your own car!

Great guide and very nicely organized. They ask you to be there 45 minutes in advance and use that time wisely to get the right horse for the right person, make sure everyone has clear instructions, and start the ride right on time. Nelly was one of the nicest most attentive clear guides weve ever had and weve been on a lot of rides. Stopping in the creek to let the horses drink and splash was a highlight. My 10 year old daughter felt really comfortable and taken care of. The Ranch is the best ride for kiddos and people who are a little less sure-footed on a horse, the other rides are higher up and more up and down and along a cliff (but better views). So fun!

Never riden a horse in my entire life but these horses are well trained and i promise its not as bad as you think! Did the 90 mintue trail and the views were STELLAR! Our Guide/Lead was Nelly and she was SPECTACULAR. She was knowledgeable of the trail and of horses! Super friendly. A great experience if you have the time and are in California! 10/10 would recommend!

I got to ride on Pajamas and she was a sweetheart! Throughout our trail ride, the guide was talking to us and making conversation. One of the best trail rides! My husband and I travel a great deal and its become tradition to ride everywhere we go. Its nice to have Malibu Riders so close to home. This has become our go to local place to ride. The guide is so knowledgable and has a lot of experience and love for the horses. Shes very nice and engaging which in turn makes everyone feel comfortable. It was nice to see life coming back to the trail from the fires 2 years ago. It makes you appreciate the new life and old life coming back to the hills of Malibu. The ocean views are breathtaking. My favorite horse would have to be Faye. But theyre all great!! I highly recommend this place! Cant wait for our next ride!

We had such an incredible experience with Malibu Riders. We started on time, Ashley (our guide) was fun, sprightly, energetic, capable, joyful - she really made the experience what it was. We felt safe physically as well as socially distanced with covid and all. She was so great about taking pics at the lookout (we did the 90 minute trail) And the horses were well behaved and good natured. We loved every minute of it and will be sure to do it again!

So much fun! We went to celebrate my moms 70th birthday. Chris was wonderful, and despite the other party being late, she kept her cool, was very kind and knowledgable about the horses, and very attentive along the trail. Highly recommend Malibu Riders! We went on a ride for my daughters 11th birthday and they made the experience so special from the very beginning with a birthday hat/lei and even the chance to paint her horse. Chase was a wonderful guide and the trail at Paramount Ranch was beautiful.

My fiance and I really enjoyed our experience with guide Kris (??) on 7-18-21. She was knowledgable and kind to the guests while keeping a close eye on the younger and inexperienced riders to help maintain their safety. The horses were well behaved and well suited for riders with less experience. My fiance had only been on a horse once prior to our ride and he felt very comfortable.

We did a beautiful ride at Paramount ranch on a Wednesday evening with our Tourguide Rosie who was an absolute delight! She chose the perfect horses for us (Malaysia & Legend) and made us feel extremely safe and cared for. She told us about the area and the scenery (including the movies/shows that were shot there) and gave some helpful horse riding tips. She made sure we got pictures as well and also reminded us to bring water and snacks which was so helpful! I recommend also bringing a fanny pack where you can easily access your belongings as well! The weather was perfect and the sunset lighting made it even more scenic than it already was. We will definitely be doing more rides with Malibu Riders as this was the absolute highlight of my month!!! Thank you Rosie & Malibu Riders!

I took my daughter and 3 of her friends on Sunday for her 10th birthday for a fun day horseback riding. We had so much fun !! First and foremost Ashley was very attentive to everyone. I feel she made everyone comfortable explaining how to ride and also while riding. She was so kind to my daughter and her friends. The weather was perfect and I loved the views of the ocean. Such a great trail ride! Beautiful horses. Fabulous guide, Rosie gave a great lesson to those with no horseback riding experience in our group. Paramount Ranch was gorgeous with beautiful vistas and a running creek that we watered our horses in. Just so much fun for a birthday ride! Highly recommend to even the most experienced rider to just enjoy being on beautiful horses in nature.

I took my 6yo and 7yo for their first ride this weekend. My daughter got scared when she first climbed on the horse, but Ashley was great and made her feel safe and had her follow directly behind her own horse so they could chat all the way. A great experience all around!

Nellie was amazing. We were newbies and she gave a wonderful pre-ride lesson that really made it easy for us first timers. Also, she worked patiently with my 12 y.o. granddaughter who was afraid. She not only got her through the ride she had fun and wants to go again.

Last year my husband took me on a private ocean view ride in Malibu for my my birthday and it was so beautiful and romantic! Ive been wanting to go back ever since!Ive been feeling a little down lately with the Covid isolation, so I got a bunch of my friends together and we did a group ride! Since we wont be able to do our typical Friendsgiving get together, this was a great alternative! We easily stayed 6ft apart, and were still able to chat, laugh, and spend some quality time together. A bunch of us are already taking about coming back next month!Our guide, Ashley, was so funny and nice! She even text me this beautiful pic of some if the horses we rode to remember them!

We had a small group of us that did this for our friends birthday! It was so much fun! The guides were so fun and friendly and took good care of us! The landscape is beautiful. Its been a year since the big fire and its coming back to life. It was a great way to spend the day!

The 3 of us had a great time. Wonderful horses and great leader. Two of my group were first timers and everything was perfect. The weather was a little hot but that is to be expected this time of year.

In love with the horses here. It’s very peaceful and Nelly is very kind and interesting. I’m glad to have been able to spend time here. I love the portion where the horses are able to go into the creek and drink water. An hour is not enough time with such majestic creatures. Nelly makes directing the horse fool proof.

Dee was amazing as a guide and we had the most spectacular ride in the Malibu mountains. The views were amazing and the horses were happy and responsive. It was a great late afternoon ride with beautiful light and the terrain was beautiful. Dee was super engaged with all of us and her leadership created a cohesive bond between us all even though we were strangers. She has a gift of making everyone feel welcome and loved.

Highly recommend MalibuRiders. The trail is picturesque and horses are so well trained. The guide Nelly was extremely nice and knowledgeable “Should get a raise” such a good soul. I have never been a huge fan of horseback riding, but she made the trail fun, worry free and I will definitely go back again. I hadn’t been to Paramount Ranch since it burned down. The trees and bushes are growing back it looks great up there. Can’t wait for the parks department to build the movie sets again. The trail is still awesome and well worth it. If you are on the fence and not sure just do it. Go to MalibuRiders and have a great time like I did. You will be glad you did.

I loved the Malibu Riders one hour ride in the Santa Monica mountains! Dee was a wonderful, upbeat leader. She obviously has an ability to match riders with their horses. I was hesitant about my horse at first, but once we got started, she was a perfect horse for me. I had not been on a horse for about 25 years, and Dee provided great encouragement and that helped me regain confidence. It was a thoroughly enjoyable the ride, beautiful weather and gorgeous views. Our stop by the creek to let the horses have some water was an extra treat for the horses (and riders). Definitely a worthwhile experience.

What an excellent experience! There were 3 of us (including myself) for my socially distanced birthday ride. The weather was clear and beautiful, it was a perfect day. We chose the Paramount Ranch ride, which was perfect. Very easy, relaxing and low-key; even saw a coyote and hawks along the way. Dee, our guide, was awesome - super friendly & very knowledgeable and gave us birthday leis, such a great touch of thoughtful detail. The horses are well looked after and each was matched to us. Looking very forward to booking again with some friends that were not able to make it this time around. Will be requesting Dee! I took the family on a surprise horseback riding experience. My mom never has been on a horse, she had trouble, but overall the horses are well trained to follow the heard. So she was safe and that gave me a piece of mind. My dad hasn’t been on a horse for over 40yrs so this was a great day for him. And my sister loved the therapeutic ride.I highly recommend going here or there Malibu location as well.I always wanted to experience horseback riding and going in water. We had 8-horses ride at Paramount Ranch for my daughters 12th birthday party. Our guide Dee was very friendly and was liked by kids. Horses are beautiful and well-trained.

My son (9yrs) and I had a fantastic experience. We did the Zuma Canyon ride. It truly was amazing. We had no riding experience going in to this. Nelly our guide ( im horrible with names so If I didnt get it right im sorry) was great and provided very thorough yet simple instructions that made the first time ride remarkably enjoyable.

This was my first time ever riding a horse, and Dee made it such a beautiful and unforgettable experience. I felt safe, and secure the entire ride. I loved how organized and how she went over all safety information before riding, and through out the ride she made sure to check in on each rider! My 13yr old nephew and I had an amazing time with Malibu Riders. Our guide D was amazing. She was super sweet and full of awesome facts about the horses and the trail we were on. The horses were sweet and calm. We had an amazing time! We will book with them again!

Our team of 6 had a great experience riding around Paramount ranch with Lexi. Lexi has great customer service skills, whether its in the office addressing my questions/concerns, or on the trail handling the horses. Shes super upbeat, really helpful, matched the horses to the riders very well, and eagerly shares her vast knowledge. She also takes great care of the horses. After an hour, we had such a good time and bounded so well that it was a little sad to say goodbye to Lexi and her horses.

I greatly enjoyed the 1.5 hr tour with Ashley is our guide. As a beginner, it was an amazing and friendly experience!

The Zuma Canyon Trail ride is absolutely beautiful and the horses were easy to ride, even for a beginner. Would absolutely recommend!

DO NOT USE THIS TRAIL RIDING FACILITY. The methods they use are extremely abusive and no doubt have caused multiple injuries to the horses. They constantly display pain and they refuse to acknowledge or act on the dozens of concerned reports.

We LOVE Malibu Riders. My husband and I have taken multiple trail rides and, for the first time, took our 9 and 11 year old sons on their first ever horse ride (if we dont count ponies at fairs that slowly walk in a circle). Ashley was phenomenal with our scared 9 year old. She talked him through everything, put him right behind her and chatted him up about everything from his horses legendary long-distance racing career to what sports he likes to play. Within 10 minutes he was feeling fully comfortable, a little bit like a cowboy and definitely having a great time. We all did. The tour she took us on at Paramount ranch was beautiful, and watching my husband get soaked (optional) while his horse splashed in a little stream made my day. Another great ride...cant wait for the next one!

I have rode with Malibu Riders 3 times now and have always had a wonderful experience. I was happy to be able to ride Legend again after saying I had ridden him before. I love that they cater the experience to the riders’ confidence level and the views are amazing. Would recommend to both first timers and experienced riders.

Booking an afternoon ride with Malibu Riders was the best activity for my sister and I when she visited from New York City! It was an absolute blast to explore the property with our trained guide and felt like a million miles away from the city.We booked a traditional trail ride where each person in the group (8-10 people) rides in a line through a marked trail. No horseback riding experience necessary! Be sure to arrive early and follow all of their pre-ride instructions, so you dont miss anything. My sister and I packed a picnic lunch that we enjoyed on a shaded picnic table near the parking lot - it was the perfect day.Pro Tips:- Pack a picnic! Theres a lovely shaded area near the trailers where you can hang out before and after your ride.- Helmets are optional for adults, but I high recommend wearing one- There isnt much tree cover, so definitely wear sunscreen if you burn easily like me- The Paramount Ranch set burned down in the recent fires, so be mindful of that if you were planning to take tons of photos there
