Had my 90,000 mile service on my outback. They honored my appointment (sadly, rare amongst service departments), had straightforward pricing, and I was out that afternoon. Getting a loaner car was totally painless. The rep did a good job explaining all the bullet points on the report.

I have used Village Subaru to service my car for many years, always to great satisfaction. The service us excellent and they dont overcharge, in fact I have saved money with them on more than one occasion. For example one day they fixed my driver seat at no charge eventhough my warranty was expired. Highly recommend.

Ive been to three Subaru dealerships to have my three Subarus serviced. Ive been to each of those for several years, over the course of the last 23 years. Village Subaru in Acton is the best. Their service has been polite, good quality, and their waiting area is clean, spacious, and convenient for working on my laptop.Recently I asked about my 2000 Subaru, and they honestly listed out a few thousand dollars in repairs, but warned me that the car wouldnt be safe to driver even after that. (Honestly, because one year earlier, a different service place told me to expect that, so this confirmed that.) There was no charge for that evaluation.Today, however, went above and beyond the usual excellent service. This morning, I called up for new wiper blades, asking if they could squeeze me in on very short notice. They said no, they couldnt, but that I should go to the Parts Department (across the street from the Service Department). I went there. The Parts Department sold me the wiper blades, there was no wait, and he installed them for me! Then, he went back inside and came out with glass cleaner and a cloth to wipe the schmutz off the lower portion of my windshield so that my new wipers wouldnt get dirty right away!

Its OK. Personally Ill shop around and look for another mechanic to service my vehicle once my warranty is up. I might have to come back for big problems; they definitely fix things correctly. It just doesnt feel above average to me.My biggest gripe is that the service desk doesnt seem interested in communicating mechanical information about faults to the customer beyond we fixed it, sign here. It seems silly to me that I need to post on a mechanic forum to get info about why I had a problem when Im paying hundreds of dollars for the work. I can understand why explaining technical details to customers can be difficult, but Id prefer a service center that at least tried. They also price-gouge on some things that are bundled in the bigger inspections. For example, I believe they charged me more than $75 to change my cabin air filter.
